The Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) has achieved an unprecedented milestone for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games. In contrast to the two athletes who qualified by ranking for Tokyo 2020, on this occasion, five taekwondists from the region have secured their spots in the world's most important sporting event through the world ranking.

THE OLYMPIC QUALIFIED ATHLETES

The athletes who will represent the region in Paris 2024 are:

1. Carlos Sansores in the +80kg division, from Mexico.

2. CJ Nickolas in the -80kg division, from the United States.

3. Caroline Santos in the -67kg division, from Brazil.

4. Skylar Park in the -57kg division, from Canada.

5. Daniela Souza in the -49kg category, from Mexico.

SUCCESSFUL STRATEGIES AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY SUPPORT

This success is the result of a well-thought-out strategy by PATU, under the leadership of its president, Juan Manuel Lopez. - Carlos Sansores, from Mexico, has been a dominant figure in the +80kg division, standing out in several international tournaments and consolidating himself as one of the best in the world.

- CJ Nickolas, from the United States, has shown impressive progress in the -80kg division, reaching podiums in renowned championships.

- Caroline Santos of Brazil has been a consistent competitor in the -67kg division, racking up medals and raising her position in the world rankings.

- Skylar Park, of Canada, has shined in the -57kg category, with outstanding performances that have taken her to the top of the rankings.

- Daniela Souza of Mexico, in the -49kg category, has been an unstoppable force, winning multiple titles and reaffirming her place among the best.

TOWARDS PARIS 2024
