"Everything starts at the end of January with the Pan American Congress and the second edition of the Gala Dinner of America. We will have a very busy agenda between January and June 2024," said Lopez Delgado, also vice president of World Taekwondo.
"In the next few days we will be making the formal announcements of the entire 2024 calendar, we are just waiting for World Taekwondo to give us the official one," he continued.
"This is an agreement that we are making following the guidelines and example of World Taekwondo in the areas indicated therein, and that we are sure will be a key point in the development of taekwondo in the continent," reiterated Lopez Delgado about the alliance with school sports in the Americas.
The 2024 PATU 12 calendar will have a major redirection in the Pan American area with a focus on holding events for children, cadet and junior ages, as well as for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games ages.
"We are working hard establishing all the necessary criteria and parameters to continue with the structural development of taekwondo in America."
Lopez Delgado added that in 2023 a number of important events have been held on the continent, as well as training for athletes, coaches and referees.
Another key point was the agreement between the International School Sport Federation (ISF) and PATU, which was endorsed by all members of the Executive Council.
"Next year we will go much deeper into the aspects of education and training. I invite you to continue working together, as the new Panamerican Taekwondo family that we are," he concluded.
School, university and military sports will be the organizations that will be hosted by the Pan American Taekwondo Union and will work together for the benefit of Continental Taekwondo, under the guidelines of World Taekwondo.
