PATU Press 06.09.2023. The Pan American Taekwondo Union has launched an anonymous space for complaints to provide all its members with the necessary tools to eradicate any kind of harassment, conflict of interest or blockade by the National Sports Federations.
PATU, oriented under the guidelines issued by the International Olympic Committee and to which World Taekwondo adheres, on the fight against harassment and abuse in sport, makes available to the Panamerican family the following e-mail address [email protected].
At this e-mail address, anyone who considers that he or she is a victim of any type of abuse, conflict of interest, or blockage in his or her respective national federations, may send his or her complaint anonymously to the department established for the review of these in the Continental Union and thus set in motion all the pertinent mechanisms to restore the well-being of those who may have been harmed.
"No type of abuse is tolerable in the Panamerican Taekwondo family, that is why we will give priority and open this new space for all those who need support for any discomfort caused, and thus make justice and welfare prevail. It is our commitment to tell you that all those who contact us will be attended immediately, with discretion and professionalism to maintain anonymity. In PATU, the Olympic Charter and the fundamental principles on which our martial art is founded will always prevail", said Juan Manuel López Delgado, president of PATU.
This type of initiative seeks to accompany the injured to enjoy the activities that the Panamerican Taekwondo Union carries out in search of the promotion, development and evolution of our sport.
A few years ago, WT launched a campaign to prevent harassment and abuse in the sport. Now, PATU assumes this role to increase forces in the fight to maintain the harmony and good performance of Taekwondo in the region.
