PATU Press (24/10/2023).- The Pan American Taekwondo Union, the Pan American Martial Academy and the Chilean Taekwondo Federation honored the legacy, work and life of Dr. Chungwon Choue, President of World Taekwondo, as well as five Grand Masters and Masters of South America, in a ceremony held on Chilean soil at the end of the competitions of the Pan American Games Santiago 2023, this October 24.
"We have seen an incredible Pan American Games, of great technical level and great organization. I am very calm because taekwondo in the Americas is in very good hands." said Dr. Choue, who was in Chile accompanied by WT Secretary General Jeonkang Seo.
"It is an honor for me to have the presence of Dr. Chungwon Choue, president of World Taekwondo, as well as each of the leaders of the 17 countries present here. You are a key and fundamental piece in all this management that intends to leave a great legacy for the Pan American area", was part of the speech to the LAE attendees. During the Pan American Family Dinner, the leaders, pioneers and precursors of taekwondo in the Americas were recognized, as was done months ago in the framework of the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023, in the sub venue of Santo Domingo.
In this context, the Grand Masters and Masters were recognized for making taekwondo an apostolate:

In addition, other outstanding leaders of Pan American taekwondo received recognition at the martial ceremony for their legacy and work in the promotion and development of taekwondo in the continent:

The Panamerican Martial Academy was created to make visible the legacy of the pioneers and authors of the history of Panamerican Olympic Taekwondo, as well as to vindicate their work as leaders, masters and Grand Masters.
In 2023, PATU and the Pan American Martial Academy have begun to settle a historical debt of half a century with those who have written the history of taekwondo in America.
