From February 21 to 23, the city of Monterrey was the scene of an intense specialized Poomsae and Freestyle practice at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento Niños Héroes. With the participation of more than 250 athletes from different parts of the continent, this event became a key meeting point for the development and technical improvement in these Taekwondo modalities.

Under the direction of Giduk Gun, Eric Gun and Jan Trigg, coach of the U.S. national team and world medalists respectively, the participants faced exhaustive training sessions designed to maximize their performance and strengthen their skills in the execution of Poomsae and Freestyle.

The president of the Panamerican Taekwondo Union (PATU), Juan Manuel Lopez, expressed his satisfaction for the dedication and commitment of the participants. “Seeing the dedication and effort of each athlete in this specialized practice motivates us to continue promoting this kind of events. Monterrey has been the ideal scenario to empower the talent of Poomsae and Freestyle practitioners in our region,” said Lopez. He also extended special thanks to the director of the Nuevo Leon Sports Institute, Melody Falco, for her support in the realization of this practice, highlighting her commitment to the development of Taekwondo in the region.

The practice not only improved the competitive level of the athletes, but also strengthened the Poomsae community at a continental level, consolidating Monterrey as a reference point for the development of these disciplines within Taekwondo.
