Aguascalientes,MEX (10/10/2023).- The second edition of the Pan American Taekwondo Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and the Pan American Taekwondo Union (PATU) Gala Dinner will be held in Queretaro, Mexico, on January 28, 2024.
In November 2022, Guadalajara hosted this important and historic tribute that honors and recognizes the efforts of the best athletes, coaches, referees and National Federations of the year, in addition to immortalizing the living legacy of the great taekwondo legends of the continent.
"Our Advisory Committee is currently analyzing the nominees from each of the countries in each of the categories. For this administration, both the Gala Dinner and the Hall of Fame are two transcendental events in the current administration", emphasizes LAE. Juan Manuel López Delgado, president of PATU and vice president of WT.
In 2022, World Taekwondo awarded PATU as the best Continental Union in the world during the WT Gala Dinner in the Alkhozam Hall de Riyadh.
The Panamerican Taekwondo Union was founded in September 1977 within the framework of the third edition of the World Taekwondo Championship (September 14 - 17, 1977) in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Since then, this Continental Union had never been awarded by World Taekwondo with the highest distinction for the work of the year.
In addition, PATU had not celebrated a Gala Dinner or immortalized personalities for their work, legacy and contribution to the development of taekwondo in the area, as was done last November 12, 2022 in Guadalajara and as will continue in January 2024 in Queretaro.
